Paul Pogba has received a surprising offer in the wake of his four-year doping ban.

Earlier this month Italy’s National Anti-Doping Tribunal accepted the request of the Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office to hand Pogba a four-year ban after the World Cup winner tested positive for doping.

Pogba was provisionally suspended in September after an initial sample showed DHEA was found in his system which can raise levels of testosterone – a hormone that increases the endurance of athletes.

In a statement released as the ban went public, Pogba confirmed he will appeal the decision at the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, adding that he would tell his full story “when I am free of legal restrictions”.

The player will be 34 years old when the ban stops, raising doubt that he will continue his football career.

However, according to Tuttosport, Pogba has received an offer to play for Broke Boys, a side in a Russian celebrity-hosted league.

In 2022, Media Football League was forged, a championship in which teams are made up of all kinds of celebrities, including actors and influencers.

And Broke Boys sporting director Artjom Chatjaturjan has claimed he has been in contact with the France star.

“It may seem like a joke, but we called him.” He told Tuttosport. “So far he has politely refused. He is in a desperate moment and needs time to accept it, Pogba is one of the best footballers in world and won’t be able to play for that long.”

Chatjaturjan allegedly sent a letter to Pogba and his agent Rafaela Pimenta in which he proposed a salary of £1,167 a month and some benefits if Pogba decided to join his league in Russia.

The contract would allegedly include ‘luxury’ accommodation, not shared with other players in Odintsovo.
