The police command in Kaduna state said its operatives
have rescued a kidnapped victim in the state.

The command’s public relations officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, confirmed the rescue in a statement issued on Friday in Kaduna.

Mr Hassan said the command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police (CP), Ali Audu, had achieved a significant breakthrough in the fight against crime with the successful rescue of a kidnapped victim.

He said that Philibus Mathew, a 58-year-old male resident of Unguwan Kedaw in Ikara Local Government area (LGA), fell victim to a heinous kidnapping incident.

According to him, Mr Mathew was abducted on March 24, at about 12:45 hrs by a group of unidentified gunmen, numbering about 12, armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons.

“Following swift and coordinated efforts by the Police , the kidnapped victim was located in Unguwar Gajere, Sabon Garin Daji area, Makarfi LGA.

“Without hesitation, the police operatives embarked on a daring rescue operation, skillfully navigating the terrain to reach the secluded hut where he was being held captive by his abductors.

“With bravery and precision, they swiftly and successfully rescued Mr Mathew from captivity, reuniting him with his family,” Mr Hassan said.

He said the CP commended the dedicated police operatives whose swift action led to the successful rescue of Mr Mathew.

He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
