KYIV

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday said that those ordering attacks on Ukraine will not be forgiven.

In a video message on Telegram, Zelenskyy said that on New Year’s Eve, the Russian military launched missile attacks on Ukraine, including in the capital Kyiv, and targeted civilians.

He said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was to blame for the attacks on Ukraine. “Nobody on earth would forgive you for this. Ukraine will never forgive you,” he said.

He noted that 140 Ukrainian military personnel were released in a prisoner swap with Russia.

“A total of 1,596 Ukrainian men and women have returned to their homes since February 24,” he said, referring to the date when the war between Russia and Ukraine began.

Earlier today, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that 82 Russian soldiers had been freed by Ukraine, while Andriy Yermak, head of the office of the president of Ukraine, said Russia released 140 Ukrainians.
