The Federal Government has strengthened efforts to rebuild Tudun Biri in Kaduna State following an accidental military drone strike in which some lives were lost and property destroyed.

Addressing journalists on Friday in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the Federal Government had adopted a collaborative approach with the state.

He said this resulted in the construction of 134 housing units under the first phase.

Vice President Kashim Shettima already inaugurated the houses.

Mr Maiyaki said the houses were allocated to families of late victims and other community members.

The commissioner also said the Nigerian military built a school in the community.

He added that the state government on its part allocated new farmlands with certificates of occupancy to families whose original lands were used for rebuilding.

He noted that the state government constructed a skills acquisition centre for youth development.

Mr Maiyaki said the mosque affected by the incident was also rebuilt in addition to the construction of a new church to strengthen interfaith harmony.

The commissioner added that government had put in place essential infrastructure in the community.

He said these include a six-kilometre road and a solar panel lighting system as well as a level-2 health facility to provide medical services.

Tudun Biri, a community close to Kaduna International Airport, suffered a Nigeria Air Force accidental drone strike in December 2023 which claimed some lives and destroyed property.
