A U.S.-based Nigerian, Etinosa Osahon, has been arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.
ICE in Los Angeles announced Mr Osahon’s arrest in a post on X on Saturday.
“ICE Los Angeles arrested Etinosa Osahon, of Nigeria, May 21,” the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said.
Mr Osahon, 49, whose criminal record includes theft and bank fraud, now faces being deported back to Nigeria.
“Osahon’s criminal record includes stealing and being in possession of stolen mail, bank fraud, and aggravated identity theft. He is in ICE custody pending removal,” ICE said.
Mr Osahon’s arrest comes as another case of a Nigerian being arrested by ICE officers as President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration continues.
In the first quarter of 2026, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security released a list of 110 convicted Nigerian criminals, listed among “worst of the worst” villains in America. They are to be deported upon completion of their jail terms.
