Ukraine said on Wednesday that two people were injured in the southwestern Odesa region due to a Russian drone attack that targeted port and border infrastructure.
“At dawn, the enemy attacked the Izmail district with attack drones. The Russians targeted port and border infrastructure. Two men, truck drivers, were injured,” Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram.
He said one of those injured is a Turkish citizen, and both were provided with the necessary assistance.
Kiper said a fire broke out after the attack, which was extinguished by firefighters.
He said transits across the Orlivka-Isaccea border checkpoint connecting Ukraine and Romania were temporarily suspended until 11 a.m. local time (0800GMT).
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Air Force claimed air defenses downed 11 of 32 drones launched by Russia over the Kirovohrad, Odesa and Sumy regions.
In the northeastern Sumy region, the regional military administration said critical infrastructure facilities in the Shostkinsky district were targeted during the attack.
No casualties or damages were reported in the central Kirovohrad region.
