The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intensified efforts to enforce road discipline, securing the conviction of 25 traffic offenders through a mobile court in the state.
The spokesperson for the command, Odunsi Afolabi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abeokuta.
Mr Afolabi said the exercise, conducted at the FRSC headquarters, was presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo.
He noted that the mobile court was part of efforts to enforce road discipline and curb safety violations along major highways in the state.
According to him, all 25 offenders arraigned were convicted, with none discharged.
He said the offenders were charged with 46 offences, including violations related to speed-limiting devices, driver’s licences, overloading, seatbelt use, vehicle licences, and number plates.
Mr Afolabi added that no offender was sentenced to imprisonment.
Speaking on the development, the Ogun State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, said the mobile court exercise remained a key component of the command’s enforcement strategy.
He noted that the zero-discharge outcome reflected the thoroughness of the enforcement process and the commitment of the judiciary to uphold traffic regulations.
“The exercise serves as a strong warning to motorists that the command will continue to enforce a zero-tolerance approach to traffic violations to ensure safety on our roads,” he said.
Mr Ogunjobi reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to reducing road crashes and protecting lives and property across the state.
