The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Sector Command, says two people died and two injured in multiple road crashes on Wednesday in Akure.

The FRSC State Sector Commander, Dr Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed the incident to journalists on Wednesday in Akure.

Mr Ibitoye said the incident happened at the front of the Vehicle Inspection Office along Fiwasaye Secondary School, Akure.

Mr Ibitoye, who said the crash involved one truck, a Nissan vehicle and motorcycle, attributed the cause of the crash to truck’s brake failure.

He said the scene of the crash was taken over by the police, while the corpses were deposited at the state hospital morgue and the injured taken to hospital.

The sector commander called on motorists to always take good care of their vehicles and check the brakes before plying the roads.

He said, “As a motorist, it’s behoves on you to take good care of your vehicle because it is very important and significant. Patience is the answer as well whenever you are on roads.

“Also, defensive driving should be adopted by every road user. Try and give space for another vehicle to maneuover so that everyone can stay alive.”
